Wallen was born the 13th of May 1993, in Sneedville, Tennessee. Wallen is the father of pastor Tommy Wallen (father) and Leslie Wallen. Ashlyne Mikaela, Lacey and Mikaela are his three sisters. His parents adopted Lacey in 2021. At a young age, Wallen performed for his church and took lessons in violin and piano.
